Description
Hanging from a frayed web, long legs with white knuckles hold fast. Over centuries, the Marbled Cellar spider has shared our homes, and thank goodness they do.
Cellar spiders are an effective 'flying-pest' controller killing mosquitoes among other pests. These short-lived spiders are non-aggressive, rarely bite even when threatened, and their venom is not a human health concern. Marbled Cellar spiders, also called Daddy Longlegs, are an ideal, in-home, environmentally-friendly pest-controller.
They are native to the Mediterranean area of Europe and Northern Africa, so they feel right at home living in homes throughout Southern California and Arizona.
