Description
Great Horned Owls (Bubo virginianus) are night hunters with excellent vision even in nearly complete darkness. They are masters of stealth using their specialized feathers to make their flight almost silent. They will dive and snatch prey with long, sharp talons carrying off animals several times heavier than themselves. This bird is a non-releasable owl being kept for educational purposes by Conservation Ambassadors.
