Artist's Description
Heading towards Anchorage to catch a flight home, I briefly stopped at Potter Marsh and caught sight of this young bull.
Moose, the largest of all the deer species, are at home on land or in the water. Males are immediately recognizable by their huge antlers during late summer through winter, which can spread 6 feet from end to end.
This youngster was photographed in spring when it's antlers were just budding through. Weighing well over 1,000 lbs (630 kg) this moose waded through Potter Marsh in the Anchorage Coastal Wildlife Refuge, Alaska.

That's one fine-looking moose! The flying hair keeps making me want to wipe it off my monitor!
