Description
When we drink a glass of water, take medicine for a fever, or take a deep breath of fresh air, we do not always make the connection with forests. And yet, these and many other aspects of our lives are linked to forests in one way or another.
Redwood National & State Parks is 139,000 acres along 35 miles of California’s northern coast. Redwoods can grow more than 300 feet high and 30 feet wide, and can live for hundreds if not thousands of years — the oldest redwoods in California are between 2,500 and 3,200 years old. Old-growth forest, are also called primary forest, virgin forest, late forest, primeval forest, or first-growth forest.
