On the walk to my mailbox, I remember feeling very anxious and lost in thought when I noticed my neighbor's steers coming close to the fence for a visit. I stopped, and looked deeply into their eyes...and felt totally at peace. I've seen them in the distance but never really met a steer before - I'll remember this encounter for a long time.
