Description
Is this a pyramid of humor made by a laughing community?
Well actually, the pyramid was intended as a form of therapy, to help residents recover from the traumatic floods of 1996. 3,000 reflective Yield Signs were used in the structure to commemorate the disaster when the rivers Ha! Ha! and Saguenay overflowed near Quebec, Canada. (The French term “haha” refers to an unexpected obstacle, not laughing.) The concept and design was based on the similarity of the French word (céder) meaning "to yield" and "to help each other."
The interior of the structure features a staircase that leads to a scenic viewing level near the top of the pyramid where visitors can take in the beautiful Haha portion of the river. When the sun reflects off the exterior, rainbows appear.
