Description
A small white gull flew over the seacoast and wetland habitat. When it flew over the amazing Elkhorn Slough National Estuarine Research Reserve, Moss Landing, Monterey county, California, I took this shot.
Ring-billed gulls have the ability to adapt to a variety of environments, both natural and human-altered. And just like people, these birds are highly social with complex relationships and intricate social rules.
Ring-billed gulls will also travel long distances to visit mild climates in winter although some will choose not to migrate, especially when home provides them with abundant food resources.
(A seagull soars gracefully through a clear blue sky. Its wings are outstretched, showcasing the bird's elegant form and steady flight.)
