I watched as this wild bunny grew from just out of the burrow at 3 weeks old to full adult. It took months of frequently visiting this cottontail's territory before this wild rabbit remained relaxed as I approached with camera in hand.

Desert Cottontails are, of course, named after their fuzzy white tails similar to Bugs Bunny's. This gentle species can be found across the arid lands of the American Southwest and Plains states.
