Description
Superheated by magma, up to 8,400 gallons of boiling water is squeezed through narrow reservoirs to erupt above ground. Every 60 to 110 minutes, Old Faithful erupts.
About 17 times a day, Old Faithful sends water and steam 90 to 125 feet into Yellowstone National Park’s sky.
(A dramatic eruption of the Old Faithful geyser shoots steam and water into the air against a clear blue sky. The surrounding landscape of Yellowstone National Park includes forested areas and open fields.)
