Description
Chomping on a mouthful of fresh grass, a bull with an impressive rack pauses. He’s a beautiful Roosevelt Elk, native to the Redwood National Park and surrounding area.
Named after President Theodore Roosevelt, this elk is the largest of the four remaining North American elk subspecies. The bulls grow to weigh an average of 875 to 1,100 pounds (about 400-500 kg).
