Description
Through an extraordinarily slow and complex process, fine green crystalline columns formed among metamorphic rock and hydrothermal veins to become one of the most prized minerals on Earth.
From its long, fragile spires to its unusually large size, this is an astonishing beautiful emerald specimen.
Although Columbia provides more than 50% of the world’s emeralds, many other lands have them. This unique specimen was discovered in Dayakou Emerald Mine, Malipo County, Wenshan, Yunnan Province, in southern China.
(Bright green crystal spikes radiate from a central point. These striking formations stand out against the rocky surface, showcasing nature's beauty.)

Thanks for the info re. the specimen. We will check out that museum next time we are in the area. Love that little town.

Wow! My husband is a mineral collector (buy and collect in field). It is a dream to collect something like this in the mine. You have to know the right people to get access. This one is an outrageous find. Where did you see it, in the mine or museum? (I will come back to see your reply when you get to it)
