Description
That "tangled mess" captures other jellies like a spider web captures flies.
While it’s larger cousins have an obvious golden-yellow yolk in their center, small Egg Jellyfish or Fried-egg Jellies, are usually colorless or milky white.
Egg Jellies (Phacellophora camtschatica) have bells which often grow up to 24 inches (61 cm) in diameter. These jellies pull about 20 feet (6 m) of nematocyst-laden, stinging tentacles behind them.
