Description
The Long-billed Curlew is one of the largest of shorebirds along the coasts of North America. They seek out insects, mud crabs, ghost shrimps, marine worms and more.
Although they live near the sea during winter and while migrating curlew sandpipers are often found inland during summer where they feast on spiders, toads, berries and bird eggs.
This beautiful bird was photographed in Morro Bay, California, an enchanting seaside village near the Pacific Ocean.
