Description
All bald jokes aside, the Wolf spider is a powerful predator. He keeps to himself, preferring his own company while he roams your home at night, stalking prey.
Wolf spiders use their excellent vision to feed on a variety of insects, including crop pests, like the earwig this one is feasting on.
There are over 2,300 species of wolf spiders worldwide, 200 species have been identified within the United States. This one was photographed in California.
